The Local Arts Scene Kicks Off With a Series of Events for 2023-2024

Season and individual tickets are available for those who want to make plans or mark their calendars

The arts are alive and well on the local scene as evidenced by the recent announcements by local organizations kicking the 2023-2024 entertainment season. There’s a fair share to choose from for those who don’t want to travel far from home to get their entertainment fix whether it be taking a stage production or a concert featuring local actors and musicians.

Season and individual tickets are on sale for a variety of events at the Richey Suncoast Theatre including the theatrical season which opens on September 15 with a production of The Last Five Years. (Check out the recent story on the theatre here.)

If music is your thing you might want to mark your calendars for the New Port Richey Library’s Riverside Concert Series which is held against a Pithlachascotee River backdrop, the new Saturday Sounds Concert Series at the Starkey Ranch Library Theatre & Cultural Center as well as the upcoming season for the Richey Community Orchestra.

New Port Richey Public Library Riverside Concert Series held August – November in Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey | Free

Pull up a lawn chair or lay out a blanket for this free concert series held along the banks of the Pithlaschascotee River in Sims Park.


Theatrical Season and Special Events at the Richey Suncoast Theatre in downtown New Port Richey | $25 plus

For $99 you can get a season ticket to all five theatrical shows while individual tickets are $26.50 (including fees). Tickets are also available for upcoming special events through December 2023. Saturday Sounds Concert Series, Sept. 2023-Feb 17 at the Starkey Ranch Library, Theatre & Cultural Center in Odessa | $13 per show + tax and fees

The Starkey Ranch Library, Theatre and Cultural Center is reaching out to the wider community with a new Saturday Sounds Concert Series that runs September 2023 – February 17 at the Starkey Ranch Theatre in Odessa. For tickets, click here.


Richey Community Orchestra Concert Season, Nov. 2023-May 2024 at the Center for the Arts at River Ridge and Spartan Manor in New Port Richey | Tickets are $18 (concert venue) – $50 (dinner shows) | On sale Oct. 2, 2023

The Richey Community Orchestra kicks off the 2023-2024 season on Sunday, Nov. 12 with the music of Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. The complete season features six shows with concerts held at the Center for the Arts on the River Ridge schools’ campus and dinner shows held at Spartan Manor in New Port Richey. Tickets go on sale Oct. 2.

Note to players/singers: Rehearsals start Monday, Oct. 2 with chorus from 5-7 p.m. and Orchestra rehearsing from 7:30-9:30.  p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 7831 Gulf Highlands Dr., Port Richey. For information visit richeycommunityorchestra.com.

  • Strings A Fire with guest soloist violin virtuoso Konstantin Dimitrov, featuring Ziguenerweisen (Gypsy Airs), Czardas, Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Symphonic Dances from Fiddler on the Roof and lots more, Sunday, Feb. 11 at the Center for the Arts at River Ridge. $18.
  •   Lady with a Song Dinner Show featuring guest soloist Ashley Thunder Lowe singing music from Gershwin, Rogers & Hammerstein and more. Sunday, March 10 at Spartan Manor. $50
  • Rockin’ the 50’s with the Richey Chorus featuring music from 50’s Broadway, pop hits from the Everly Brothers, Elvis, and more. Sunday, April 14 at the Center for the Arts at River Ridge. $18.
  • Mother’s Day Pops Dinner Show with guest soloist John D. Smitherman singing his favorite pop, show tunes and a little bit of opera with a lot of fun thrown in, Sunday, May 12 at Spartan Manor. $50.
