With the spring vegetable garden season winding down, the home landscape seems to be the theme for several of this month’s gardening and horticultural programs, with most of them offered for free by the UF/IFAS Pasco County Extension and its dedicated volunteer Master Gardeners. They do a fine job of trying to meet residents where they live – on their own turf, so to speak – with programs held throughout the county, most at area libraries. A drive might be in order for those looking to expand their knowledge about, for instance, orchids (Land O’Lakes) and micro-irrigation (Dade City), but there are others held closer to home for those who reside in west Pasco with programs on pollinators, attracting birds and wildlife, and more, held in New Port Richey, Holiday, and Hudson. For more information on those programs and the plethora of services offered by the UF/IFAS Pasco County Extension, be sure to visit the website at sfyl.ifas.ufl.edu/pasco
