PASCO COUNTY, FL —- Grab your masks and fins — Bay Scallop Season is back, and Pasco County is ready to ride the wave of summer excitement. Beginning July 10 through August 18, this 40‑day celebration invites locals and visitors to dive into one of the Gulf’s most iconic family adventures.
“Scallop season brings an unmatched sense of adventure to Florida’s Sports Coast, giving visitors the chance to dive into the Gulf, explore our waters, and experience one of Pasco County’s most unforgettable summer traditions,” said Executive Director Adam Thomas.
Whether you’re a seasoned scalloper or giving it a try for the first time, Florida’s Sports Coast, the official Tourism Office of Pasco County, offers experienced local guides and charter companies to help you make the most of scalloping season. To book an excursion, click HERE.
Scalloping Regulations & Safety Tips:
- Collect scallops by hand or with a dip net
- Daily bag limit: 2 gallons whole bay scallops in shell or 1 pint shucked per person
- Daily boat limit: 10 gallons in shell or 1/2-gallon shucked meat
- Display a diver-down flag while in the water
