MAACA Honors Faith & HIV/AIDS Awareness Month With an Important Conversation & Workshop

On August 27, MAACA (Minority Alliance for Advocating Community Awareness and Action, Inc.) invites you to join us as we honor Faith & HIV/AIDS Awareness Month with an important conversation about the role faith communities can play in promoting health, compassion, education, and HIV awareness.

Our faith communities have long been places where people come together to find support, offer encouragement, serve others, give back, and extend forgiveness. But when it comes to topics such as HIV, sexual health, testing, prevention, and treatment, conversations can sometimes become difficult because of stigma, fear, misinformation, or the belief that faith and public health are separate issues.

We believe they don’t have to be.

Can Faith and Public Health Work Together?

That’s the question we will explore together during our upcoming community workshop on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 11 am until 1pm at Harm Reduction Anonymous in Port Richey

This will not be a lecture or a conversation designed to tell anyone what they should believe. Instead, it will be an opportunity for our community to listen, learn, ask questions, challenge stigma, share ideas, and explore how faith and public health can work together to support healthier communities.
