DOH-Pasco Issues Water Quality Health Advisories for Oelsner and Robert J. Strickland Parks

Water quality at two area parks do not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria

Pasco, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Pasco County (DOH-Pasco) has issued a water quality advisory for the following locations:

Oelsner Park
5218 Miller Bayou Dr
Port Richey, FL 34668

Robert J Strickland
6345 Clark St
Hudson, FL 34667


Tests completed on Monday, August 24, 2026, indicate that the water quality at Oelsner Park and Robert J. Strickland Park does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health. DOH- Pasco advises against any water-related activities at this location due to an increased risk of illness in swimmers. Sampling conducted during regular water quality monitoring showed that the level of bacteria exceeds the level established by state guidelines.

This advisory will continue until bacteria levels are below the accepted health level. Test results are available at FloridaHealth.gov/HealthyBeaches.
