Rates Are Going Up for Pasco County Utilities Customers

PASCO COUNTY, FL  —-  Pasco County Utilities customers should anticipate rate changes to their water, wastewater and reclaimed water bills effective October 1, 2026.  The average residential water and sewer customer, using 6,000 gallons per month, will see a billing increase from $91.99 to $96.32 – a difference of $4.33.

Changes are also coming for residential reclaimed water customers, including adjustments to rate structure, base charge and the backflow prevention device fee, detailed below.

• Reclaimed Water Base Charge: Increasing from $12.66 to $13.26 – a difference of $0.60 per month
  • Includes the first 8,000 gallons
  • Increasing from $1.27 to $1.33 for every additional 1,000 gallons – an increase of $0.06, up to 13,000 gallons
  • Increasing from $2.17 to $2.27 for every additional 1,000 gallons over 13,000 gallons – an increase of $0.10.

• Backflow Prevention Device fee: Increasing from $6.89 to $7.22 – a monthly difference of $0.33

The revenues collected through Pasco County Utilities’ rates, fees and charges directly support the operation, maintenance, repair and replacement of essential water, wastewater and reclaimed water systems. As of October 1, 2025, a four-year rate schedule took effect, reflecting changes adopted from the Cost-of-Service Rate Study approved by the Pasco Board of County Commissioners. This study outlines projected annual adjustments to service rates, fees and charges through September 30, 2029.
