NEW PORT RICHEY, FLA. (Mon., May 18, 2026) – The City of New Port Richey invites you to experience its second annual Juneteenth Celebration“Boots on the Ground: Celebrating Marchin’ On” on Friday, June 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the historic Richey Suncoast Theatre located at 6237 Grand Boulevard in New Port Richey. This event is free of charge and open to the public.

“It’s encouraging to see this event continue to grow in its second year, giving us another opportunity to celebrate our history and share our story with the community here in New Port Richey,” said Larnelle Scott, Past President of the African American Club of Pasco County and the City’s Cultural Affairs Committee Ambassador.

This second annual Boots on the Ground Juneteenth experience will again be hosted by comedian and “King of Crowd Work” Rudy Wilson. New this year, guests can expect live performances by Bay Area Drum Academy, The SphinxBoyz Step Force, Roaring 20s dances by Venus Angels Dance Company, the gospel sung by Evangelist Janice Nunn Nelson, and even a special performance by Mime-N-Authority. There will be audience participation, giveaways, lessons in African American history, and more. Dust off those boots and come ready to dance!

Manns, City Manager of New Port Richey. “It’s a powerful expression of resilience, culture, and progress, where stories are shared, voices are uplifted, and our community comes together in Downtown New Port Richey.”

The History of Emancipation and Juneteenth, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the New Port Richey Public Library.

Through compelling storytelling and insight from historian Christopher Daley, this program explores how the fight for emancipation transformed the nation and why the legacy of Juneteenth continues to inspire the ongoing pursuit of liberty and equality today.


Juneteenth Celebration, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the African American Club at the historic Booker T. Washington School in Port Richey

Scholarship Awards, Children’s Area, Vendors, Entertainment, Food, Fun, and Fellowship. Free Event, Dinners will be SOLD. Help us celebrate Unity in the Community, recruit new members, and raise funds for AAC.
