New Port Richey, Florida – The City of New Port Richey is pleased to announce a soft opening of the Nebraska Avenue portion of the Railroad Square Project located in Downtown New Port Richey on March 20, 2026. This exciting revitalization project is aimed at creating a vibrant and walkable public gathering space for the community while supporting our local businesses. “The timing of this soft opening was very intentional by the City as we wanted to provide area businesses the opportunity to benefit from increased attendance and foot traffic associated with the upcoming Chasco Fiesta,” stated City Manager Debbie L. Manns. While the Nebraska Avenue corridor will be accessible, portions of the project area, including Cavalaire Square and the newly created pocket park, will remain closed until full project completion. Residents and visitors should also expect intermittent construction zones throughout the site as crews finalize decorative features and complete finishing touches. These temporary work areas are necessary to deliver the high-quality public space improvements that our residents and businesses have come to expect.
The official grand opening celebration for the Railroad Square Project is slated for the weekend of April 11-12, 2026, and will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, giveaways, and many family-friendly activities.
