~~Three seats open to professionals with experience in food systems~~

PASCO COUNTY, FL  —-  If you’re interested in supporting an accessible, resilient and local food system here in Pasco, we have the perfect opportunity for you! The Food Policy Advisory Council (FPAC) currently has three open voting-member seats for a certified nutritionist, an attorney and a representative from a local farmers market.

FPAC Member Responsibilities

  • Recommending food policy to governmental bodies
  • Supporting the development and expansion of locally grown foods
  • Strengthening connections to economic development
  • Informing the public about community food systems
  • Reviewing proposed legislation and regulations that impact food systems

Send your application and resume to Planning@MyPasco.net if you’d like to volunteer as a voting member of FPAC. Seats will be filled as soon as possible.

Available Seats and Qualifications

  • A food/nutrition professional who resides in Pasco County and possesses certified nutritional credentials
  • An attorney experienced in food systems, preferably residing and/or practicing in Pasco County or the Tampa Bay region
  • A local representative from an established farmers’ market

FPAC consists of 11 voting members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, along with one non‑voting member from the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Cooperative Extension.
