New Port Richey FarmNet Leads Organic Food Drive
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL (October 19, 2026) – In the spirit of the holidays, New Port Richey FarmNet is sponsoring the sixth annual organic food drive in New Port Richey. FarmNet organizers from East Madison Gardens, Grand Gardens, and Mark Brown Tribute Garden are welcoming contributions of certified USDA organic food in cans and boxes for distribution to low-income and less fortunate families in the area. Why not give the best to those in greatest need?
Other groups and individuals are invited to participate. See contact information below. The holiday food drive will run through December 15, with periodic distribution events to be scheduled in coordination with this year’s primary recipient, St. Vicent dePaul Society at Mary Queen of Peace, which is celebrating 40 years of serving our neighbors in New Port Richey.
Two FarmNet supporting participants will host drop-off containers for the food collection: Wright’s Natural Market (5800 Main Street, New Port Richey) and White Heron Tea and Gifts (6228 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey). Donations will also be received on the second and fourth Sundays each month at Wright’s outdoor Farmer’s Market (5800 Main Street, New Port Richey), and on Tuesdays at Tasty Tuesdays Market at the New Port Richey Public Library.
Other collection sites are sought. Businesses and organizations that would like to join the project as a drop-off site or financial sponsor can contact Amanda Zborek ajozborek@gmail.com
Donations can also be brought to FarmNet’s annual community dinner (Garden to Gather) at Peace Hall in Sim’s Park (November 7, 5:30 to 8:00) at the Sweet Potato Round Up (November 21, 11:00) at the New Port Richey Public Library.
Organizers for the food drive are requesting only USDA-certified organic food in cans or boxes – no produce or perishables.
