News Bites: Pasco County Community Development Receives National Award for Vincent House Project

The mission of Vincent House is to help and celebrate individuals recovering from a mental illness in their effort to improve social and vocational skills, and become employed in the community.

The National Community Development Association (NCDA) is recognizing Pasco County Community Development as a winner of the 2021 Audrey Nelson Community Development Achievement Award for their collaboration on The Vincent House Project.  This innovative facility in Hudson is building a path for people suffering severe mental illness to become productive members of the community.

“This project is another great achievement for the Pasco Community Development Team,” said Assistant County Administer for Pubic Services Cathy Pearson.  “Their dedication continues to make a big difference in our citizens’ lives.”


The Vincent House
 offers:

  • 10,000 square feet; energy efficient facility
  • Rehabilitation program based on Clubhouse International model First in Florida
  • Kitchen, Business Center and Bank
  • Training activities

This project was made possible with Community Development Block Grant funding allocated by the Pasco Board of County Commissioners, along with 10 acres of donated land, state funding and private donors, including Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative.
