Aspen St. Closure due to Grand Blvd. Multi-Use Path Project Construction

New Port Richey, Florida – Weather permitting, the City of New Port Richey will begin work on the Grand Blvd. Multi-Use Path Project on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.  As part of the project, Aspen St. will be closed and will remain closed until the project is completed. The City will take all measures to minimize impact and inconvenience for residents and visitors in and around the affected area.  For more information on this project, please contact our Public Works Department at (727) 841-4536.

City of New Port Richey to End Assistance with FEMA Forms for City Residents and Reinstate Permit Fees

New Port Richey, Florida – The City of New Port Richey will be closing the service center located in the New Port Richey Public Library as of January 15, 2025.  The service center has been open to assist city residents with filling out FEMA forms in the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.  The City will also reinstate normal permit fees as of January 15, 2025 as well.

Road Closure Notification: Louisiana Avenue Utility Repairs

New Port Richey, Florida – The City of New Port Richey would like to inform residents and motorists of
an upcoming road closure scheduled for Tuesday, December 17, 2024, on Louisiana Avenue between
Madison Street and Monroe Street. The closure will begin at 9:00 AM and is expected to remain in effect
for the duration of the utility repair work.
Crews will work diligently to complete the repairs as quickly and safely as possible.
Traffic and Service Impacts:

  • Through traffic will not be permitted on Louisiana Avenue between Madison Street and Monroe
    Street during the repair work. Detour routes will be clearly marked to assist motorists in
    navigating the area.
  • Access to residential properties within the affected area will be maintained; however, there may
    be temporary delays.
  • Residents directly impacted by service interruptions will be notified in advance.

City of New Port Richey Seeks Members for Historic Preservation Board

New Port Richey, Florida – The City of New Port Richey is accepting applications from City of New Port Richey residents interested in appointment to its Historic Preservation Board.  To qualify to serve on this board, interested persons must be a current city resident and preferably have knowledge and experience in one of the following disciplines: architecture, history, architectural history, planning, art history, archaeology, American studies, American civilization, cultural geography, cultural anthropology, real estate, building construction, or other historic preservation related disciplines. 

The mission of the Historic Preservation Board is to provide for the protection, enhancement, and perpetuation of buildings, structures, improvements, archaeological resources, landscape features and architectural resources of sites and districts that represent distinctive elements of the City’s cultural, social, economic, and architectural history.
