Lots of music events to take in if that's your thing. Check it out.

April 2025

What’s What New Port Richey

Local talent shines for sure this month, and there are plenty of ways to take it in, including at the Chasco Fiesta, which features live music nightly until it all wraps up on April 5. Be sure to check out the special section below, which features some remaining special events, including Blues Night with Julie Black, Alex Lopez and Mephis Lightning, the Firefall|Fabulous Thunderbirds and Country Concerts, and the annual Boat Parade on the Pithlachascotee River.

The locally grown and long-standing Richey Community Orchestra and the Thursday Musicale will be hosting concerts. The West Pasco Art Guild invites the community to an opening reception for the April “Music” exhibit featuring the creative interpretation of that by area artists. Richey Suncoast Theatre shines the spotlight on the works of local playwrights in the second installment of their Writers’ Series with a free offering of stage readings.

The Fool’s Follies Improv Comedy Show (April 8) at Peace Hall looks to be fun, as does the Adult Spelling Bee, which will be held once again at the historic Hacienda Hotel.

Libraries get into the music mix with a Sunday afternoon performance of Florida Jazz Express at the Hudson Regional Library. The NPR Library features the Garbage Men as just one of the ways Earth Day is being celebrated there. (Check out the Library Calendar for more on that and other library events).

There are tribute concerts for those who dig that kind of thing at Richey Suncoast, PHSC Performing Arts Center, including NPR Parks and Rec’s free Jimmy Buffet tribute concert in Sims Park.

Add to that the annual Loquat Fest, professed to be the only food fest of its ilk held in the United States, Parks and Rec’s Spring Fling – foodie and family-friendly events that can help stretch a day.

Check that out and more – including weekly listings of local live music gigs, because we so appreciate those who play and those who pay them to play.
