What’s Happening at Local Libraries | January 2025

Been to your local library lately? There's so much to check out!

BY MICHELE MILLER
What’s What New Port Richey

January 2024

I am always amazed at the vast offerings of programs and activities courtesy of our local libraries. Long ago the local library became more than a place to borrow books that patrons check out on a regular basis. That service alone saves hundreds of dollars for borrowers – never mind DVD checkouts and streaming services that you can sign onto for free with your library card.

County and city libraries are a valuable and overlooked local resource that can tend to the needs and enrich the lives of many if they simply enter the doors or get online to access both onsite and virtual programs.

The arts, languages, music, health and wellness, gardening and so much more.

Below you’ll find some special highlights happening throughout the month of January that might just tickle a fancy, introduce you to a new hobby and get you out into your community.

Scroll down or access the Quick Search feature below. Be sure to explore on your own especially for ongoing programs – book clubs, story times – by accessing the New Port Richey Public Library website here and the Pasco County Libraries website here.

Calendar Note

Libraries will be closed on January 1, 2025 for the New Years’ Holiday and also on January 20, 2025 in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Holiday
