Dengue Fever | Pasco County Waives Residential Tire Disposal Fee

Free drop-off can help eliminate mosquito breeding grounds

PASCO COUNTY, FL —- Pasco County takes another proactive step to protect our community from the mosquito-borne viral infection, dengue fever, by waiving residential tire disposal fees from October 1 through November 1.

Pasco County residents can bring up to four old tires – no more than 36 inches in diameter – to one of the following locations for FREE:

East Pasco Transfer Station, 9626 Handcart Road, Dade City
- Mon. – Sat. | 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

West Pasco Resource Recovery, 14606 Hays Road, Spring Hill
- Mon. – Sat. | 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Land O’ Lakes Recycling Drop-off, 6801 Wisteria Loop, Land O’ Lakes
- Mon. – Fri. | 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Tires must be separated from other trash or waste, but rims can stay attached. Pasco County has issued a Local State of Emergency in response to dengue fever, and your simple actions in getting rid of old tires can have a big impact by stopping the spread. Tires sitting behind sheds, stacked near garages, or left outdoors can collect water and quickly become breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
