Here’s a preview of some events that are on the June agenda. A special note that celebrations for America’s 250th Birthday are starting up in June, with more to come in July.


Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, June 5, 6, 12* & 13 at 7 p.m. and
June 7, 13 & 14 at 2 p.m. *ASL Interpreted Show. Step into the shadows with one of Broadway’s most chilling and thrilling masterpieces! Stephen Sondheim’s legendary Sweeney Todd comes to Richey Suncoast Theatre this June, delivering razor-sharp wit, haunting music, and a tale of revenge that will leave you breathless. Recommended for ages 16 and up.
- Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience, 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Richey Suncoast Theatre in downtown New Port Richey. $37-$47. Box $252.
- Rahn Hortman: Clean Not Soft Comedy, 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the Richey Suncoast Theatre in downtown New Port Richey. $26 – $32. Box $152.
- Absolute Journey Tribute LIVE, 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Satruday, June 27 at the Richey Suncoast Theatre in downtown New Port Richey. $31 – $42. Box $177.

- Concert in the Park: Mullins Music Rock Week Showcase, June 5 in Sims Park. Students from Mullins Music’s Rock Week Summer Camp will take the stage at Sims Park for a special performance. The concert will feature several student bands that were formed during Rock Week—an annual tradition at Mullins Music since 2007. Free to attend, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating. Food trucks, sodas, plus beer and wine for the 21+ crowd will be available before and during the shows.
- West Pasco Historical Society presents Beva Stevenson-Karay – Cotee River Water Bugs Ski Club, 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Peace Hall in Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey. Learn about the “Water Bugs” ski club that dazzled spectators in the 1960s and early 1970s with death-defying and daring acrobatics, jumps off ski ramps, barefoot, slalom, cross-overs, head stands, baton twirling, and flag flying on the water.
- The History of Emancipation and Juneteenth, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the New Port Richey Public Library. Through compelling storytelling and insight from historian Christopher Daley, this program explores how the fight for emancipation transformed the nation and why the legacy of Juneteenth continues to inspire the ongoing pursuit of liberty and equality today.
- New Port Richey Fourth Friday Block Party, 6 – 10 p.m. Friday, June 26, in downtown New Port Richey. Each Fourth Friday features a rotating lineup of talented artisans, makers, and small businesses offering handmade goods, art, jewelry, woodwork, gifts, and unique finds.
Celebrating America’s 250th

- Nicole Stott, Astronaut, Author & Artist Book Signing and Talk, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Starkey Ranch Library in Odessa. She spent 104 days in space as a crew member on both the International Space Station and the Space Shuttle.
- Great American Backyard Bash, 4 – 7:30 p.m. Satruday, June 6 at Wesley Chapel District Park in Wesley Chapel. Featuring the Jimmy Buffett tribute band, Caribbean Chillers. Free hot dogs and drinks (while supplies last). Water slides (wearing a swimsuit and bringing a towel encouraged), Foam Party & Jelly Ball.
- Freedom 250th Truck Mobile Museum, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, at the Starkey Ranch Library in Odessa.
- Family Day & Touch a Truck, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in the Starkey Ranch Library parking lot. Featuring 30 fun and adventurous vehicles. Bring your own bike and ride in the Bicycle Rodeo. Receive a free bike helmet (while supplies last). Enter for a chance to win prizes, including two 24” bikes. Free game booths. Enjoy snow cones and water (donation to Starkey Ranch Friends of the Library)
- Kid Fest Celebrates America’s 250th Birthday, 5 – 9 p.m. Saturday, June 20, in downtown Zephyrhills. Live music, Games, Vendors.
- America’s 250th Birthday in Our National Parks, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the New Port Richey Public Library. Penny Musco, author and former Artist in Residence at the National Park Service’s Homestead National Historical Park, presents a compelling look at the events leading up to the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Her program connects audiences to National Park Service sites across the country, sharing this history in the very places where it unfolded.
- Summer Fest, 2 – 9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Zephyr Park in Zephyrhills. Live music. Inflatables. Fireworks.
- Red, White and Blue Hometown Extravaganza, 4 – 9 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey. Live music. Vendors. Games. Fireworks.
