Get your tickets now for RST’s production of Peter & the Starcatcher, RCO’s April concert featuring some Road Trip tunes, the 5th Annual Monufest, and the 3rd Annual Tampa Bay Record Store Crawl.

Freebies this month include a Spring Fling for the kids, a Caribbean Chillers/Jimmy Buffett Tribute Concert, NPR Library’s Riverside Concert Series with alt-rock band Common Ground, a family movie night featuring the showing of Zootopia 2 in Sims Park, and a historical presentation of “Nude Pasco” in Peace Hall. Not to that. The West Pasco Historical Society welcomes the community to come out to their Membership Meeting and test your knowledge in a Jeopardy-style local history contest

West Pasco Historical Society presents “Nude Pasco,” The History of Naturism in Pasco County, with Olaf Danielson at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Peace Hall in Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey | Free

Join Olaf Danielson – writer and historian for the Naturist Education Foundation and NEF Research Library – for a program about the history of nudism and naturism in Pasco County from 1939 until today. Learn why Pasco County became the “Nudist Capital of the World”, along with the location and history of nudist parks, and the lifestyle of the people who live in them.

Poetry Open Mic, 12 – 1:45 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the New Port Richey Library | Performances open to teens and adults

Express yourself, share your art, and enjoy readings from other talented voices in the community.
Coffee and tea will be provided. Performances are open to teens and adults. Read an original poem or a favorite piece by another poet.

  • – Acts must be no longer than five minutes.
  • – You may perform in a group.
  • – Acts must be family-friendly.

Registration is only necessary for those who would like an open mic spot. Only registrants are guaranteed a time slot; we will try to include additional poets if time allows. No registration is required for those who wish to attend as an audience member.

Special Performance “The RMS Titanic and Ralph B. White,” 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the New Port Richey Public Library

Join Lynn Anderson as she portrays the Unsinkable Molly Brown and shares the story of Ralph B. White, a member of the 1985 expedition that discovered the RMS Titanic. White later co-directed salvage operations, filmed the wreck for major productions, and captured the now-famous images of the ship resting 2.5 miles beneath the Atlantic.

With the blessing of his family, Lynn will present Ralph’s original slideshow, featuring rarely seen copyrighted images and an insider look at the life and legacy of this remarkable explorer.

The 13th Annual Florida Loquat Festival, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey

The festival is a learning and sharing event designed to expand knowledge and appreciation of the loquat tree and its fruit. Presentations throughout the day will explore topics including cultivation of loquat trees, uses of the fruit and leaves, and discussions on community markets and agrarianism.

Loquat trees are available for purchase. Also this year, the return of the beloved Loquat Art Show, featuring local artists working in a variety of media. Artwork showcased in the exhibit will celebrate Florida produce and agricultural heritage.

Square Spectacular Grand Re-Opening of Railroad & Cavaliere Squares, April 11 and April 12 in downtown New Port Richey

The celebration kicks off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, followed by a live performance at 7 p.m. by Phoenix5. The evening will also feature special guest DJ Prince, creating an energetic atmosphere as the community gathers to experience the newly reopened squares.

On Sunday, April 12. Bring the whole family for Family Square-A-Bration! Enjoy the Magic of Cesar Domico, a lively dance party, special guests, photo opportunities, and non-stop family fun and surprises throughout the day.

West Pasco Historical Society Annual Membership meeting, 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Peace Hall in Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey

Join us for our annual membership meeting. We will be voting on five Board of Directors positions to serve for the next two years. The public is invited to attend – but only WPHS members may vote.

For entertainment, Board member Tomás Monzón will be hosting a “Jeopardy-style” history trivia contest. Contestants will be chosen from the audience, and prizes will be awarded to the winners. Snacks will be available.

3rd Annual Tampa Bay Record Store Crawl, starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, starting at The Music Gallery in downtown New Port Richey | $59.95 in advance – online only

Participants will be treated to a welcome breakfast, a brief presentation on the history of vinyl records, and a primer on record grading.  Guests will then be chauffeured throughout the Tampa Bay Area to several record stores, including Mojo Books & Records in Tampa, Daddy Kool Records and Bananas Records both in St. Petersburg, and Grandaddy Records & Vintage in Brooksville.


NPR Parks & Rec | Concert in the Series featuring the Caribbean Chillers, 7 p.m. Saturday, April 18 in Sims Park | Free

Parrot Heads are invited to soak in the sights, sounds, and laid-back spirit of a live Jimmy Buffett experience. There will be margarita mocktails, a best dressed costume contest, and a giant inflatable parrot might make an appearance for a photo op benefiting a local bird sanctuary.

Free to attend, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating. Food trucks, sodas, plus beer and wine for the 21+ crowd will be available before and during the shows.
