Take a guided hike through Withlacoochee River Park during the dusk hours. Participants will explore the unique world that comes to life as the sun goes down. We will listen to and look for nocturnal animals and get to know what special adaptations these creatures have to thrive in the dark. Saint Leo University Invites Community to Free “Haunted Halls” Halloween Celebration, on October 29 at Saint Leo University
Saint Leo University invites families and community members to celebrate Haunted Halls, a free event open to the public on Thursday, October 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Apartments 1 and 2 on the university’s residential campus.
The evening will feature Halloween fun for guests of all ages, including:
- Trick-or-treating
- A haunted house
- A costume contest
- A pumpkin patch
Rhymes to Readers Storytime Trick-or-Treat Parade, 11 a.m. Friday, October 30 at the New Port Richey Public Library in downtown New Port Richey
This special themed storytime is also one of the cutest days of the year: the annual Trick-or-Treat Parade! Rhymes to Readers Storytime will begin at 11 am with some fun Halloween stories, rhymes, and songs for little ones. Afterwards, everyone will line up and begin trick-or-treating around City Hall to visit each City department. Costumes are encouraged, and don’t forget to bring something to hold your candy, too!
Halloween Horror Picture Show, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, October 31 at Cinema Six Theatre in Port Richey
After three long years in the shadows, The Halloween Horror Picture Show has clawed its way back from the grave, ready to reclaim its throne as Florida’s original and most electrifying horror film festival. The resurrection culminates in a one-day cinematic nightmare on Halloween Day, hosted at the iconic Cinema 6 Theater in Port Richey, Florida. Fans can expect a packed house filled with passionate horror lovers hungry for fresh blood on screen, of course.
This year’s event promises far more than just films. Attendees will be immersed in a full horror experience, including:

Come out to Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park on Saturday, October 31st for a spooky-themed archery class! Ghosts and ghouls are out and about, and it’s YOUR job to hunt them down. Instructors will teach you how to take aim and fire, so whether you are a beginner or experienced archer, you are guaranteed to have a hauntingly good time. Downtown businesses & city departments dole out candy for the annual Trick or Treat Event. For one enchanted Main Street and Grand Boulevard belong to the goblins, ghouls, witches, princesses, superheroes, tiny dinosaurs, Addams Families, and whatever wonderfully strange creatures you can dream up. This old-fashioned community Halloween celebration is completely FREE and open to kids, grown-ups and anyone who still believes Halloween MUST involve costumes, candy, and a little make-believe.

Spooky Season Reading Challenge, through October 31 at the New Port Richey Public Library. Read, complete fun challenges, and fill out your bingo card along the way in this seasonal reading challenge for adults. Everyone who gets a BINGO will receive a prize, and those who complete the entire card will be entered for a chance to win tickets to a ghost tour in Downtown Tarpon Springs!
Spider Scavenger Hunt, October 1 – 31 at the New Port Richey Public Library. Find the clues hidden around the children’s library. Fill out your answer sheet and return it to the desk to receive a small prize.
ClayWorks Handmade Cornucopias, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, October 3 at the Starkey Ranch Library. Make your own ceramic cornucopia by hand. Join us on Saturday, October 3. Items made during this program will need to be finished at a following glaze program. Glazing sessions are Monday, October 26 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Wednesday, October 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, and Friday, October 30 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.
Halloween Balloon Decor, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, October 5 at the New Port Richey Library. For adults. Registration encouraged.
Tween Craft: Woven Yarn Ghosts, 4-5 p.m. Thursday, October 8 at the South Holiday Library. Create your own woven yarn ghosts. This program is intended for grades 4-7.
Spooktacular Halloween Science, 1 – 2 p.m. Monday, October 12 at the New Port Richey Public Library. Experience creepy potions, a dry ice cemetery effect, floating eyeballs, and more! Be sure not to miss this spook-tacular event, presented by Mad Science of Tampa Bay. Recommended for elementary-aged children but open to all families.
Bedazzled Pumpkins – Adult Craft, 2-3 p.. Wednesday, October 14 at the Regency Park Library. Choose your favorite rhinestones, then decorate your pumpkin with sparkle, creativity, and a touch of glamour
Saturday Storytime: Tricks & Treats, 10:15-11:15 a.m. Saturday. October 17 at the Regency Park Library. With themed stories, songs, and crafts, it is sure to be sweet. Costumes are encouraged!
Haunted Hues for Teens, 5-6:30 p.m. Monday, October 19 at the New Port Richey Public Library. Create your own Halloween masterpiece using a paint-by-number set! All supplies will be provided. This event is for middle and high school students. Please register to reserve your spot, as supplies are limited.

Vampire Trivia!, 6-7 p.m. Thursday, October 20 at the South Holiday Library. Think you’re the ultimate vampire expert? Test your knowledge for a chance to win some scary-fun prizes! *This program is intended for adult patrons. Registration is required. All prizes and supplies will be provided.

Join us for a chilling evening at the Lit Lounge as we dive into some of literature’s most macabre and monstrous stories. Enjoy live readings, specialty mocktails, free raffles, and more. Writers are also invited to share their own spooky stories! Participants may read up to 5 minutes of their work.
Teen Holiday Bash, 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, October 29 at the South Holiday Library. Teens are welcome to partake in Halloween-themed games, activities, and make their own Frankenstein’s Monster from stuffed animals.
