There's Plenty to Do

June 15, 2026

What’s What New Port Richey

Yep, we’re heading into the dog days of summer when the temps and humidity have many hunkering down in the AC.

Even so, there’s a fair share of upcoming activities, events, performances, and the like to take in – some where you can keep your cool and others meant to entice you outdoors.

Of special note – Richey Suncoast Theatre celebrates its 100th anniversary with an Open House and screening of The New Klondike, the first silent film shown at the historic theatre back in 1926, then a movie house, and featuring one of NPR’s most famous late residents – the silent film star, Thomas Meighan. The show is well worth the ticket price – 25 cents, mind you, which was the going rate back then. Richey Suncoast has also added another theatrical show in celebration of the country’s 250th birthday – the musical 1776, which takes the stage mid-month.

There is a fair share of Independence Day events in the mix, with many starting in June and a handful scheduled for July. Local libraries step up to the plate in a big way with a variety of entertaining enhancement programs for the kids, who are encouraged (along with adults) to sign up for Summer Reading Programs.

The City of New Port Richey is hosting some programs meant to get you outdoors and downtown, with celebrations of music and dance, and “get you moving” summer events held at the newly renovated Cavalaire and Railroad Squares in the heart of NPR.

Scroll on down and take a gander at some of what’s coming down the pipeline – more will be added for the July calendars, which will publish on or before July 1. And if you’re looking for something to do in the immediate future, be sure to check out the June calendars below.
